There are several types of lawn mowers: manual push, electric, petrol-powered, and cordless battery-operated, each with their specific advantages and drawbacks. Electric mowers are quiet and eco-friendly, while petrol mowers offer more power for tackling larger lawns or thicker grass. Cordless lawn mowers combine the benefits of both, providing the freedom of movement without a power cord and lower emissions than petrol models.
When selecting a lawn mower in Knighton Fields, it is crucial to consider factors such as lawn size, grass type, and personal preferences. Important features to look for include cutting width, height adjustment options, ease of use, and stability. Additionally, consider whether you require additional functionality like mulching, bagging or side discharge.
With all these factors in mind, we've carefully assessed and compared an extensive range of lawn mowers to help you make an informed decision and choose the perfect fit to keep your lawn looking its best.
We've carefully selected the best lawn mowers on the market, taking into consideration the efficiency, durability and overall performance. Dive into our list to find the perfect lawn mower for your garden!
If you're seeking a compact and manoeuvrable lawn mower, the Flymo EasiGlide 300 is undoubtedly worth your consideration.
A few days ago, we put the Flymo EasiGlide 300 to the test, and it proved to be a reliable lawn mower suitable for sloped and irregular shaped gardens. As a hover mower, it floats on a cushion of air, which enhances manoeuvrability and allows for effortless navigation around obstacles. Also, the 1700W motor and 30cm cutting deck can handle thick and dense grass, making it perfect for anyone seeking an effective mower.
Furthermore, the mower offers four cutting heights, ranging from 10 to 30mm. We adjusted the height quickly and easily, resulting in the desired grass length for our lawn. However, the 20L collection box, which collects and compacts as it cuts, needed frequent emptying, especially when dealing with a larger lawn area. Although the 10m cable offers decent flexibility, it may limit manoeuvrability if you have a bigger garden, so you might need an extension cable.
The Flymo EasiGlide 300 is not the most compact when it comes to storage, but the flat folding handles are a nice feature to save some space. Overall, the mower performed well for us, and we recommend it if you require a reliable and efficient hover lawn mower. Just be mindful of the cable length while using it and make sure you have sufficient storage space.

Updated 23 hours agoWhen it comes to selecting the perfect lawn mower, several factors should be considered to ensure you make a worthwhile investment. In this buying guide, we'll shed light on the key features and aspects that will help you make an informed decision.
Firstly, consider the type of lawn mower that would best suit your needs. There are three main types:
Reel Mowers: These are manually operated, and ideal for smaller lawns.
Rotary Mowers: Powered by either a petrol engine or an electric motor, these mowers are best for larger lawns and can handle a variety of grass lengths.
Ride-on Mowers: Designed for extensive lawns, ride-on mowers are more comfortable to use and provide a higher coverage rate.
Next, think about the power source that would best suit your needs. There are three main power sources for lawn mowers:
Power Source | Description |
---|---|
Manual | Affordable and eco-friendly, manual mowers require physical effort to operate. |
Electric (Corded) | Quiet and efficient, corded electric mowers require a power outlet and an extension cable. |
Electric (Battery) | These mowers offer the freedom of a cordless model and the ease of recharging batteries between uses. |
Petrol | Powerful and suitable for larger lawns, petrol mowers do require regular maintenance. |
Here are some additional features to pay attention to when selecting your lawn mower:
Cutting Width: A wider cutting width will cover more ground in less time, making mowing large lawns more efficient.
Height Adjustment: Look for a mower that offers a range of height settings, so you can adapt the cut to suit your lawn and weather conditions.
Collection Bag: A mower with an incorporated collection bag will save you time as it collects grass clippings during the mowing process.
Mulching Capability: Some mowers have the ability to finely chop grass clippings and redistribute them onto your lawn as a natural fertiliser.
By carefully assessing these factors and features, we hope you'll be well-equipped to choose the ideal lawn mower for your specific requirements.
